This course is only for those who have completed Work Safely at Heights training in the last 3 years and require retraining to meet best practice and industry standards.
The Work Safely at Heights Refresher course is a half day refresher designed for participants who have previously undertaken the complete Work Safely at Heights training course and need to refresh or re-confirm their knowledge and skills. As technologies, techniques, rules, guidelines and laws are always evolving, it’s a good idea to update your training, skills and knowledge periodically. The currency period most employers require for this unit of competency is 24-months (2 years).
This comprehensive 4h course involves both theory and practical components and can be completed at our QPTS training facility in Perth. This refresher course can be completed on the same day as the Confined Space refresher course.

RIIWHS204E – Work Safely at Heights (Refresher Course)
Course Content
This refresher course is based on the national competency standards accredited by the state and national training authorities and will allow participants to regain a sound understanding of all legal requirements. Topics covered in this course include:
- Legislative requirements
- Risks associated with working at height
- Priority of access
- Forces in falls
- Physical controls
- Fall arrest equipment
- Types of anchors
- Rescue procedures
Course Details
- Half day face to face course at our QPTS Perth Training Facility .
- 4 hours duration
- Completion of short LLN quiz
- Combination of questions and practical demonstration
- Statement of attainment and wallet card will be posted (upon successful completion of the course)
Completion of Digital Literacy Assessment
Course Duration
Course duration is half day (approximately 4 hours). Start time is 8.00am – Finish time is 12.00pm.

Course Requirements
- You will need to provide a current Statement of Attainment for Work Safely at Heights (RIIWHS204D or equivalent) that is no more than 3 years old to complete the refresher course.
- If you do not have a copy of your Statement of Attainment, a downloaded VET transcript from USI will be accepted.
- Wallet Cards must clearly display course code of the unit
- USI details to be provided
- Primary ID must be provided on the day – Drivers licence, Passport or Birth Certificate
Please ensure your attire is safe and suitable for a training environment. This includes closed-toe shoes and no singlets.
- Arrive at least 15 mins prior to course start time to complete required paperwork
